Land Rover will always be synonymous with brilliant off road capability, beautiful industrial design and all around usability. Every model since the company was launched in 1948 had these characteristics and was successful on its own rights.
Unfortunately, under many owners the company struggled, and it’s only after BMW helped develop the Range Rover of the 2000’s that the success really began. Then came the always beautiful Discovery, LR4, and now even the Range Rover brand is expanding to include new and interesting variations.
During all this time, Land Rover hasn’t forgotten what made it so famous- the new cars feature a wide array of driver aids for off road driving and still excel on road and off road. Even the mighty Range Rover can teach many off roaders a thing or two.
The top of the line Range Rover has never enjoyed this much success- very successful, highly praised and still oh so cool. Some say its only real competitor is the Mercedes S-Class and for that Range Rover has an answer- an extended LWB and a special Autobiography version to take it to new heights.
Hybrids, diesels, gasoline and high performance will take Range Rover forward, but they will always remain the perfect cars- good on every terrain and any climate.
